first_imgIndia opener Prithvi Shaw has been ruled out of the first Test against Australia with an ankle injury which he suffered during the ongoing warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI in Sydney, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed shortly after the cricketer was sent to the hospital for scans.Shaw was in pain and immediately grabbed his lower left leg after attempting to take a catch on the boundary. He will undergo an intensive rehabilitation program to hasten the recovery and be available for selection at the earliest,” the board stated.Shaw was all set to be included in the playing XI for the first match starting December 6 but now Murali Vijay and KL Rahul will have to open the innings in the teenager’s absence.
